Just before Candidasa and close to its facilities, the village of Sengkidu has a good choice of accommodation in a quiet atmosphere.

Nirwana Cottages is hidden in a fertile garden dominated by coconut groves. Its contemporary Balinese – style bungalows are stretched over the garden and are set well apart. Relax in peace on the beach or on the spotless poolside, or eat healthy, MSG – free meals with homemade bread. Organic vegetables and spices are grown in the garden using the hotel's compost. Ask Ibu Handayani, the owner, for treks or tours with local guides.

A truly different place, Pondok Pisang features six thatched roof bungalows, each with a different shape and décor, in a spacious garden hidden at the end of a small road. An open bale is occasionally used by groups practicing yoga who appreciate the quiet environment and the energy coming from the ocean. There is no restaurant, but by you can order snacks from the friendly staff.

In the budget price bracket, Flamboyan Beach Bungalows offer simple, yet clean and comfortable rooms with attached cold water bathrooms in a quiet area near the beach. The thatch – roofed bamboo rooms are scattered among the lush gardens. Trekking to Tenganan and massage can be arranged through the front office.
